Family Support 360 Upcoming Events and Reminders
November 7, 2007, 12:00-1:30 pm EST and 4:00-5:30 pm EST: Navigator Technical Assistance Call. This Navigator TA Call, Time and Case Management Solutions, is Part Two of a two call series given by Carol Curtin of the University of Massachusetts Medical School's E.K. Shriver Center. Ms. Curtin presented at our Boston and Salt Lake City TA Meetings earlier this year and will be speaking from and adding to her previous discussion on Time and Case management. For additional resources on these topics, please visit the Stress and Time Management section of our Public Resource Library. November 29, 2007, 3:00-4:00 pm EST: Logic Model Call. Sujata Dixit has selected two grantees, New Hampshire and Washington, DC, to present their project logic models to other grantees on this call. The selected grantees will provide feedback on the call to other grantees on how they developed their logic models, what challenges they faced, and the solutions they found to the problems. In addition, Dr. Dixit will discuss the importance of consistency in data collection, taking examples from the highlighted logic models. Dr. Dixit will also be available to provide feedback and answer questions. |

New Resources on the Family Support 360 Web Site
DisabilityInfo.gov DisabilityInfo.gov is the federal government's one-stop Web site for people with disabilities, their families, employers, veterans and service members, workforce professionals and many others. Information and a link to this Web site can be found in the Government Agency section of the Resource Library. Electronic Family Service Plan Webinar The summary, PowerPoint presentation, and recording of the October 11, 2007 Electronic Family Service Plan (E-FSP) Webinar, given by our Hawaii project members and Kevin Sypniewski of AssistGuide, is now on the private side of the Web site, in the Technical Assistance Training section.** Thank you, Hawaii for taking the time to prepare and present this very informative Webinar. Grant Opportunities This new link, located in the Opportunities, Grants and Scholarships section of the Public Resource Library, highlights the Grants.gov Web site. Grants.gov is a central storehouse for information on over 1,000 grant programs and access to approximately $400 billion in annual awards. By registering once on the Grants.gov Web site, your organization can apply for grants from the 26 federal grant-making agencies. Parent to Parent-USA This new link, found in the Family Support section of the Resource Links page, points to the Parent to Parent-USA (P2P-USA) Web site. P2P-USA is a national non-profit organization committed to assuring access and quality in Parent to Parent support across the country. This site highlights statewide organizations that have parent to parent support as a core program and are committed to implementing evidence-based practices. Research and Training Center on Community Living A major activity of the Research and Training Center on Community Living (RTC) is to analyze various data sets to learn about the status and characteristics of individuals with disabilities in the United States. UCP Research and Educational Foundation Grant The United Cerebral Palsy Research and Educational Foundation (UCPREF) provides funding for pilot studies on research important to the prevention and treatment of cerebral palsy, including improvement in the quality of life of persons with disabilities due to cerebral palsy and closely related developmental brain disorders.
